Reclaim your worth!

Moms, we all do it.
You go shopping and come home with tons of bags. Those bags contain things you purchase for your kids, your spouse, your mom, your pet. Nothing for you.
Your kids tell you they want to join the sports team or dance class. You sign them up and purchase all of the best sports attire and equipment so they can have the best experience. Your spouse or partner tells you they were invited on a trip or to a conference and you tell them they deserve to go because they work so hard. You don’t think twice about any of these decisions.

Then, you get an invite to a retreat or weekend away and you think, well I would love to go but I should really save the money just in case the kids need something or because you and your spouse/partner are looking to do a new project in the house. You can just wait and maybe go next time.

So what does my notebook have to do with this?

I was on a call with my mentor and she had helped me to start journaling again. I used to journal a lot but had gotten out of the habit. While on the call, I held up my journal. It was not a journal. It was a red marble composition book I had picked up on a quick trip to the store.

She quickly called me out on it. 

She asked why on earth i was using that notebook. I know immediately what she was referring to.

You see for years, I had been beaten down so badly emotionally that I had put away anything of value that I had accumulated. My self worth was in the dirt. That is what this marble notebook symbolized. It was me accepting the very basics. She told me to get my butt to the store and find myself a beautiful journal that would signify me, my self worth, and that I would feel inspired to write in. 
So I did just that. I went to Barnes and Nobles and found a beautiful journal with gold on the edges of the pages and the softest most beautiful cover. And even bought a beautiful gold pen to use with it.

You see, when we allow ourselves to lose our sense of self worth, and we put everyone else in front of ourselves we begin to believe we are not worthy of treating ourselves to nice things. And then the accumulating effect is the guilt and shame we lay on ourselves when we want to do something. 

What I realized, over time not over night, is that I am worthy of nice things. I am deserving of that beautiful journal and pen, and I can treat myself without the guilt and shame that I allowed others to place on me. 

And you know what!! You are worthy, and you are deserving, and you can treat yourself!! And no, you don’t have to feel guilt or shame for doing it!!

New moms Program!

This past week, our Moms Supporting Moms Facebook Community held a 5 Day Self Care Challenge.  The moms were asked to spend 15 minutes a day doing something just for them.  The moms rocked this challenge, and chose things like taking a walk, reading a book, taking a bath, eating their lunch in peace, taking their coffee onto their patio before anyone woke up, journaling, and meditating.  The most impressive part was that the moms really looked forward to this time and were committed to making it happen!

How do you truly feel about your family time? Is it relaxed, fun, joyful, happy? Or is it tense, frustrating, and stressful? More and more, I see (with NO judgement) families being in the tense, frustrated and stressful situation.  
My family was there, too. 
​What I have learned, and want to share with you, is how you can help your family to find its way to the relaxed, fun, joyful and happy state that we all crave.  You can do it!!

3 Reasons you don’t have to feel guilTy taking time for you

We recently started a Healing Through Love Facebook group to help support moms and women. The one thing that so many of these women, as well as so many other women I have met along my journey claim, is that they feel guilty for taking time for themselves. Things like working out, making themselves a nutritious meal, taking a walk, taking a bath, meditating, or reading a book, suddenly become like a dream.

         Our world is in turmoil. Turn on the news, or open your social media, or walk down the street.  What do you see or hear? Better yet, what do our children see or hear? Hatred, Anger, Resentment? Or Love, Joy, Acceptance? I know what I WISH my children and grandchildren would see.

I choose love over fear!

I choose LOVE over FEAR!
I am not one to discuss politics or religion, or debate either of these things.

I am one to say that when we see, hatred, judgement, anger,
or resentment, rage, or
violence, we are acting from a place of fear.

​The first time someone told me this,
I ​immediately thought, “This is BS. I am not afraid.” 
​But when I sat with this concept for a while, it started to make sense.
